David Schall was raised in Fenton, Mo., but has lived in several other cities due to his involvement with college and professional soccer.
Having always wanted to be a teacher and coach, Schall was able to do just that beginning in 1996 in Missouri public schools including Rockwood Summit, McCluer North, and Northwest-House Springs, before being called to Westminster Christian Academy in 2006. For nine years at WCA, “Coach” Schall taught Physical Education and Health while also serving as Physical Education Department Chair and Director of the Strength and Conditioning program, which supported several team and individual State champions.
Upon feeling the Lord’s calling to move further into school leadership, Schall completed his Doctorate degree in Instructional Leadership from Lindenwood University and began serving WCA as Dean of Students in 2015. In this role, Dr. Schall oversaw student discipline, was involved in teacher observation and assessment, diversity education, student activities, student leadership and Westminster’s Faith in Action program.
Schall continues to research the area of leadership extensively, concentrating specifically on how successful leaders get buy-in from those they lead. In fact, this was the focus of his doctoral dissertation. As a member of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, Dave was deeply entrenched in Men’s Discipleship as well as serving in the two and three-year-old Sunday School rooms.
When asked about joining the Twin Oaks community, Dr. Schall stated: “Throughout this process we have seen God’s fingerprints on so many aspects. From the timing of when and how everything happened, to the people Stephanie and I have met along the way, the experiences we’ve had have felt so natural and right. We look forward to continuing to build relationships and connecting with the faculty, staff and families of Twin Oaks.”
